The new Back control helps you move from a subtask to its parent without searching. It works in both the task preview sidebar and the modal view, and it keeps only one task view active at a time.

Steps

  1. Open any subtask.
You can open from the Tasks list, a Project, or a File. The subtask appears in the preview sidebar or modal, depending on where you opened it.

  2. Locate the Back button.
At the top left corner of the subtask, you’ll see a Back button next to the parent task title.

  3. Hover to preview details.
Hover over the Back button to see a tooltip that shows the parent Task ID, Title and Description.

  4. Go to the parent task.
Click the parent task title. The current view switches to the parent’s task details in the same context (sidebar → sidebar, modal → modal). Only one sidebar or modal stays open.

  5. Use in File view as well.
In the File tab, clicking the parent task title also switches the active task details to the parent. Anchors still work - use them to jump to the exact spot in the file when relevant.

Summary / Next Steps

When you’re working inside a subtask, use Back button to quickly return to the parent. Hover to confirm you’re heading to the right task (you’ll see its ID, title, and a short description). Click the parent title to switch - no extra windows to manage.
