Create a subtask directly from a comment when work belongs under an existing task.

Steps

  1. Hover the comment and click Three dot menu (⋯) > Create Subtask.

  2. The subtask creation sidebar opens with the Description and Assignee(s) prefilled from the comment’s text and @tags. You can edit or clear them.

  3. While you’re creating it, a Parent label appears in task details; hover it to see a tooltip with the full parent task title.

  4. Review default fields:

    1. Priority: Low

    2. Status: Open

    3. Reviewer: you (the person who started creation)

    4. Source: inherited from the parent task (if exists)

  5. Click Create subtask.

Notes / Tips

  • After the subtask is created, the Parent label is no longer shown in its task details.

  • Delete comment is only visible for the comment’s creator.

  • Reply, and Three dot menu (⋯) are available to all viewers of the task.

  • Opened subtasks behave like other tasks in the task details preview/modal view.
