How to Compare Document Versions and Working Copies in DLM

Introduction

You can use Compare in DLM to review differences between document structures. This helps you validate changes across working copies and parent iterations before you finalize the main document.

Steps

  1. Open the document in DLM tab.

  2. Select the file you want to review.

  3. Click the three-dot menu and select Compare.

  4. Review the Compare window:

    • The selected file opens on the left.

    • The right panel shows the full structure so you can pick the file/version to compare against.

  5. Choose the second item to compare from the structure on the right.

  6. Use the default Compared view to see a side-by-side page comparison.

  7. Switch to Overlay view if you want to review differences in an overlay format.

Notes / Tips

  • You can compare any of the following pairs:

    • Published Parent file ↔ Published Parent file

    • Published Parent file ↔ Unpublished Parent file

    • Published Parent file ↔ Working Copy file

    • Working Copy file ↔ Working Copy file
