Burai enforces subtask completion to keep task hierarchies clean. You can bulk‑complete all subtasks from the modal—and you get a short‑lived Undo toast to roll back if needed. Task details, status, and activity appear consistently in the task modal.
Move Parent Task to Completed
Try to complete a parent task.
If any subtask is Open / In Progress / For Review, Burai shows a modal:
“You can only complete this task if all subtasks are completed.”Choose an action:
Use the Undo toast (optional).
After Complete all, a toast appears (bottom‑left) saying everything was marked completed. Click Undo to restore every item to its previous status.
Check Activity.
Activity on both the parent and subtasks logs who changed the status, including bulk actions.
Move Parent Task to For Review
Try to move to For Review.
If any subtask isn’t completed, you’ll see:
“You can only move this task to For Review if all subtasks are completed.”Choose an action:
Complete all → All subtasks move to Completed and the parent moves to For Review.
Cancel → No changes.
Use the Undo toast (optional).
After Complete all, click Undo on the toast to restore previous statuses.

Use Complete all to advance parent tasks when subtasks are still open. If you change your mind, click Undo on the toast to revert.
