Adding files to Burai AI one at a time is slow when a department holds dozens of
documents. You can select many files at once, set who the resulting knowledge is
available to, and let Burai process them in the background while you carry on
working.
Steps
Open the files you want to add.
Go to Files and open a department, a project, or My Favorites.Select the files.
In List view, tick the checkbox beside each file, or use the checkbox in
the header row to select everything currently shown. In Grid view, the
checkbox appears when you hover over a file.Start the action.
A bar appears at the bottom with the number of files you picked. Click
Add to Burai AI. Use Clear on the same bar to start your selection
again.Check the list in the configuration window.
The window lists the files that will be processed. Files you already added to
Burai AI, and files you do not have permission to add, are left out, and the
window tells you that they were.Decide who can use the knowledge.
Each file has a Make this file available to everyone in the company via
Burai AI toggle, off by default, which you can set file by file. The toggle
at the top of the window sets every file at once. Left off, a file is
available only in the department or project you started from.Accept the terms and start.
Accept Burai AI's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then click
Add to Burai AI.Carry on working while it runs.
A progress panel appears in the bottom-right corner showing how many files
have been processed. You can leave the page — processing continues without
you.
Review the result.
When processing finishes, the panel reports Success, Partial success
or Failure. Click Details to see what happened to each file.
Retry anything that failed.
The results window separates the files that were added from the ones that
were not, and gives a reason for each failure. Where a failure can be
resolved, use Retry - only the failed files are processed again.
Notes / Tips
You can select any file you can see, whatever its type and whether or not it
is already in Burai AI. Whether a file can actually be added is settled in the
configuration window, not while you are selecting.Burai creates a PDF version of each file to use as the knowledge source, and
names it for you.A file that cannot be retried — one that has been deleted, for example — stays
in the list with its reason so you can see why it was not added.Files that are already in Burai AI are not processed again.
For which file types can be added, see Supported File Types for Export to
Burai AI and External Share. To browse what is already in Burai AI, see
How to Add and Browse Files Used by Burai AI.
Summary / Next Steps
Select the files, decide who the knowledge is for, and let Burai work through
them in the background. Check Details afterwards so you know which files
made it in.
