How to Start Recording When the Scheduled Notetaker Fails to Join

If the Notetaker never makes it into your meeting, you can still invite it by hand from the meeting in Burai.

A Notetaker scheduled for your meeting waits to be admitted. If nobody lets it
in within 20 minutes of the scheduled start, it gives up and leaves. You can
still record the meeting by inviting a Notetaker by hand.

Steps

  1. Check that no Notetaker is waiting.
While a scheduled Notetaker is still sitting in the waiting room, the
Start recording button is hidden - admit the one that is already there
    instead of inviting a second.

  2. Open the meeting in Burai.
Go to Meetings and open the meeting that is in progress.

  3. Click Start recording.
The button appears once the scheduled Notetaker has left or timed out. A new Notetaker is invited and appears in the
    waiting room.

  4. Admit it in your meeting.
Let the Notetaker in from the meeting's waiting room. Recording starts once
    it joins.

Notes / Tips

  • Only one Notetaker can wait to be admitted at a time, so Start recording
stays hidden while one is already waiting.

  • A scheduled Notetaker that never joined does not count as a recording, so it
does not stop you starting one by hand.

  • You cannot invite a Notetaker once the meeting's scheduled end time has
passed, even if people are still talking. Start it before then.

  • Admit the Notetaker promptly. Left in the waiting room for 20 minutes from the
scheduled start, it drops out and you are back to inviting one by hand.

Summary / Next Steps

If a meeting is running without a Notetaker, open it in Burai and click
Start recording. To stop this happening, check your auto-join setting in
How to Configure Meetings Settings (Auto-Join & Auto-Share).
